MUSIC Chronicles: This Happened TODAY

Every generation moves to the beat of their day. Who do you have on a constant loop in your music rotation? I vibe to Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, and Beyonce often. 3-days ago Beyonce celebrated her annual born day - this is the month of Virgo. The Virgo zodiac icon is a virgin lady carrying a bundle of wheat. The month of Virgo represents production. Those bundles of wheat equal bread all day long - no matter how you look at it.

History recalls today at the point where The Chiffons dropped the single, "He's so fine."

in 1963.

In 1970 the Beatles lead guitarist, composed "My Sweet Lord," to the "He's So Fine" beat.

In 1973 The Beatles lead guitarist George Harrison was found guilty in a court of plagiarism

for biting songs across the pond.

The Beatles are beloved, their musical legacy is fine. They have inspired many "musicians fire" throughout the years. Though you should know history cites that plagiarism bugged Harrison more than a few times during his career and that he contributed about 2 songs per Beatles album from 1965 onward. In court, he admitted to having heard The Chiffon's song, "He's so fine," but that he had no intention of building his guitar base for "My Sweet Lord" from the Chiffon's track. Inspiration across the pond is real.

Bread is made in the music industry, so it's no wonder that the month of Virgo would offer so much wheat. Also on this day in 1996, Tupac was shot several times and hospitalized. It was the last time we'd ever see Tupac. Around this same time, Michael Jackson was on HIStory World Tour, his third solo world concert tour, at Letna Park, Prague in the Czech Republic and approximately 4.5 million fans attended. HIStory World Tour grossed more than $163.5 million dollars. It happened today:

On this day, in the year 2000, the MTV 17th Annual AWARDS show broadcasted and recorded that Alliyah and Eminem were musical winners.

The month of Virgo still belongs to Michael Jackson. His birthday is celebrated on August 29th. 2001 marked the 30-year anniversary of his singing career and he celebrated big!

On this day he hosted a concert in New York's Madison Square Garden and several entertainers met him there, including Eminem, Whitney Houston, Gladys Knight, Britney Spears, and Destiny's Child. Virgos know how to party. 4-days after the celebration and in close proximity to Madison Square Gardens, the Twin Towers fell on September 11, 2001.

In 2003, The BLACK EYED PEAS single "Where is the Love" was Number 1 on the UK charts for 6-weeks. The Black Eyed Peas are a spirit nourishing treat. They're an audio delight whereas legumes are great to eat.

In 2008, Another MTV Awards show airs on this day and blesses Chris Brown and Brittany Spears with awards for their melodious labor. Further good news is, these two are still going strong in the industry. Their auditory producing capacity is indeed legacy sustaining.

In 2010 Bohemian Rhapsody performed by Queen was voted "lighter in the air song for all time:"

What do you think? Were you waving a lit BIC lighter over your head?

September 7th is a momentous page in our musical records. Today's bullet points is a shortlist; it highlight's so few. Case in point, "What are you listening to?"
